Anatomy: Plate No. 48
Description
This plate belongs to the Anatomy collection. A quiet study of skeletal forms, capturing the structure and movement beneath skin.
Taken from historical anatomical references, each illustration remains as it was originally recorded. Faded lines, annotations, and signs of age are preserved, reflecting both the passage of time and the care of the hand that made it. These details are not corrected, but celebrated.
Printed to honor the original work, these plates are meant to be explored, displayed, and collected. Alone or in thoughtful groupings, they form a subtle archive of anatomical knowledge and artistry.
Prints
All prints are produced using archival pigment inks on carefully selected fine art paper.
This process ensures exceptional detail, rich tonal depth, and long-term stability, while remaining faithful to the softness and texture of the original illustration. Each print is made to order to minimise waste and maintain quality.
With proper care, prints are designed to last for generations without noticeable fading.
*** Unframed prints arrive wrapped in tissue paper, rolled securely in a shipping tube.
Framing
Each frame is produced in our own woodshop using natural wood, chosen for its grain, tone, and longevity. We avoid synthetics and imitation finishes, favouring honest materials that age beautifully over time. The profiles are intentionally refined, designed to support the artwork rather than compete with it.
All pieces are float mounted, allowing the artwork to sit slightly proud of the mountboard. This creates a gentle shadow line around the edges that adds depth and reinforces the feeling of the piece as a physical object.
We are conscious about materials throughout the process - our framing is designed to protect and present the artwork with sensitivity, integrating seamlessly into both modern spaces and more traditional interiors.
*** Float style mounting increases the size of the frame by roughly 60mm in length and width - over and above the print size.
CARE & DISPLAY
Fine art prints are inherently sensitive and should be handled with care. Avoid touching the printed surface, as even light contact can cause abrasion or leave marks that are difficult to remove. When handling is necessary, always use clean, dry hands and support the print from the edges.
If the print is being sent for framing elsewhere, we recommend leaving it unopened in its original packaging to minimise unnecessary handling and preserve its condition.
When framed, display the artwork out of direct sunlight and away from areas of high humidity. As with all framed works using natural wood, it is important to inspect the surrounding environment for signs of wood-boring insects. Firewood, old timber, or untreated dried wood stored nearby can increase the risk of wood borer and should be kept separate from framed artworks.
STUDIO PROCESS & DELIVERY
Each artwork begins its journey in our studio, where it is produced with patience and attention to detail.

We take care in every step of production and shipping, ensuring that your artwork leaves the workshop in perfect condition and arrives safely at its new home. From the careful selection of materials to the final packaging, the process reflects the same craftsmanship and respect for the artwork that inspired it.
